     Over the years, Dr. Price has found himself often teaching and/or assisting individuals with their financial stewardship and personal budgeting.  Most everyone is familiar with the term budget, and the same will agree that budgeting is a prudent way to make their money work for them. But how many of these folks actually use a disciplined budget as a part of their personal or family finances? Not very many, and to their own demise. 

 

  Having his undergraduate major in Finance and Accounting, Dr. Price also spends his daily affairs managing multiple budgets for churches, his personal finances, community organizations, and others! His training is also an area of ongoing learning and application, which he desires to share with those who can apply the disciplines of financial management.

     Most know a budget can be simplified as a plan for saving and spending money or assets. These include where the money will come from, what expenses that money will be used for, and where the remaining balance is allocated after expenses are paid. A practical budget ensures of all the necessary bills are covered regularly (such as rent, mortgage, utility costs, food, gasoline, insurance, etcetera) but a practical budget must also preventatively account for the unexpected expenses of life.

     To simplify the concept, budgeting allows every dollar to have a place, a responsibility, and a location before it is ever in our hands. This eliminates impromptu or impulsive spending that can drain our accounts faster than we imagine! Thus it is evident, more is not always the answer, but financial management and budgeting ALWAYS is!
